Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, one of the most prolific scholars of India and a premier
statesman.
Summary of the Book
Dr. Radhakrishnan discusses his views on science, religion, evolution
and life in an idealist view of
life. In this treatise, Radhakrishnan explores all aspects of the
modern debate on science against religion and the futile attempts by man to
find a substitute for religion. The author draws from the various traditions of
the East and West, and the nature and validity of religious experiences. The author
also discusses the modern concept of evolution and a range of other subjects
combined with his personal views on faith which makes this book a philosophical
education in itself.
About the Author:
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was
the first Vice-President of India and the second President of India. He was a
well-known scholar of comparative religion and philosophy, holding the King
George V Chair of Mental and Moral Science at the University of Calcutta and
Spalding Professor of Eastern Religion and Ethics at University of Oxford. He other
books of the author includes Indian Philosophy, The Hindu View of Life, Religion and
Society, and Recovery of Faith.
